Traditional Therapy
Tamara Ice earned her Masters in Clinical Psychology May 2003 from The Institute of Imaginal Studies, Petaluma, CA. While working at True to Life Children’s Services, as an intern, she received “The Heart Award” in recognition of providing service with heart, trustworthiness, and an overall ability to evoke a deep connection with all of her clients.
Tamara’s mission is to create an environment where people are open to work on issues, and feel inspired to learn more about themselves. With the intention of improving the quality of life, Tamara cultivates resilience, integrity, self-knowledge and humor into the therapeutic relationship. Her work is mindful and creative; she includes art, nature, games, solution-focused therapy, and journal work in her sessions. Tamara believes that peace begins within and that all people have the right to be respected and to feel good about themselves.
Tamara was recently trained as a Solution Coach for the school district where she teaches. She has been instrumental in implementing this program and has participated actively in reducing the incidents of bullying behavior on the playground by meeting with small groups of students who are both target and the bully. Tamara is also a co-facilitator for Safe School Ambassador in the district.
Tamara’s years of teaching experience, combined with ten years as a therapist are a sturdy foundation from which she’s launched her private therapy practice; she has many years of experience working with children, teens and families, and continues to love this work.
